Rally Against AIDS Cuts in Sacramento June 10 at 1:30pm:
Governor Schwarzenegger wants to slash California's HIV programs. If approved, this would mean massive cuts to the state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program, HIV testing, and other programs, and the virtual elimination of HIV prevention and education. This will endanger the health and well-being of more than 35,000 low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS in California. The elimination of HIV prevention programs would also result in even larger numbers of new HIV infections in the state.
Help us stop the cuts to HIV programs. Join us on the steps of the State Capitol on June 10 and send a clear message to state leaders: DO NOT CUT LIFESAVING HIV PROGRAMS!
If you're interested in joining us in Sacramento, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, A&PI Wellness Center, Stop AIDS, and WORLD will be chartering buses to help people get to Sacramento. Contact any of those organizations if you're interested in getting a ride up to Sacramento.
If you cannot join us you can still help!
Call, write or email your state representative and the governor's office tomorrow. Let them know you oppose cuts to HIV/AIDS services, and that your vote counts, as does your friend's votes.
And thank you for your support!
